Miss Melodie
Melodie Schell
Pre-School • Ballet • Jazz • Acro
Melodie started dancing at Marquis when she was only 5 years old and fell in love with the art. At the age of 7, she joined Marquis’s intensive program where she spent the next 10 years training and competing in groups, trios, duos, and solos in a variety of styles, including ballet, jazz, pointe, contemporary, lyrical, tap, and hip hop. Throughout her training Melodie has had the opportunity to learn from and work with many renowned choreographers and teachers, as well as travel to Ottawa for a National competition.
Even while dedicating over 15 hours a week to her own dance training, Melodie also loved assisting younger student’s classes whenever she could. Through assisting, she not only discovered a passion for teaching and choreography, but also had the opportunity to learn from the other experienced teachers at the studio and develop her own teaching style.
After graduating from the intensive program, Melodie wasn’t quite ready to say goodbye to dance. She became certified in Module 1 of the Acrobatic Arts syllabus (AAC1) and began teaching at Marquis, the very place she first fell in love with dance. Melodie is passionate about creating a positive and encouraging environment where students can grow, build confidence, and develop their own love for dance. She is excited to continue learning alongside her students and looks forward to helping them discover the joy that dance has brought her throughout her life.
