Miss Cayla

Cayla Gauthier

Hip Hop • Acro • Ballet • Jazz • Pre-School

Cayla started dance at the young age of 2 and has been a competitive dancer at Marquis for 7 years. She has trained and competed in all styles such as; ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, pointe, hip hop, acro, modern, and tap. Cayla is also a certified Acro teacher with the Acrobatic Arts syllabus. Between her beginnings of dance classes and her competitive years at Marquis, she was a high-level competitive gymnast traveling all across Canada. At the age of 12, she found herself falling in love with all styles of dance and became a dancer full-time.

As a student of the school’s intensive program, she competed in group dances, small groups, duos/trios, and solos, winning many memorable awards. Training for 15+ hours a week and continuing to take classes from new choreographers, lead her to all sorts of travel opportunities for dance. At the age of 17, she was selected to be a part of Team Canada Dance and represented Canada in Poland by competing in Jazz, Modern, and Ballet. The following year she was a part of a group that flew to New York and trained intensely for an audition. As Cayla was known for her love of dance, she also began to find a love for inspiring the younger generation of dancers. As a teacher, Cayla continues to find joy in watching students grow in dance.

Cayla is beyond inspired and looks forward to every year she can share her knowledge with her students. She is honored to be a part of the amazing faculty at Marquis.
