Congratulations go to Sarah Sigurdson who
placed third with her tap solo at this year's Quidz Quest
finals, held during the Red River Ex.

A GIRL!
Congratulations Miss Kim and Jason on your beautiful baby
girl. Kasidy Juliet Salamandyk was born on the day after
recital on May 30th. She weighed 7 pounds, 13 onces. What a cutey!

Congratulations all participants at this year's Canadian National
Dance Championships. Competition highlights include Elite Golds and Golds
in Ballet & Hip Hop, many 1st, 2nd & 3rd place finishes,
and multiple selections that are eligible for
World Jazz & Ballet Championships & an overall highest

- 2010 MARQUIS GRABS TOP HONOURS @ ARTISTS EMERGE HIP HOP COMPETITION,
WAYNE RECOGNIZED AS CHOREOGRAPHER.
Congratulations to the Marquis crew of
Advanced I.P. Hip Hop students who took first overall (Most
Outstanding) in the intermediate division and was given the
X-Factor award. Shouts also go out to Wayne Santos who took
home a top choreogra-pher award. Wayne's Sikat troupe also
placed first overall in its category.

- TEAM CANADA WORLD TAP AND HIP HOP CHAMPIONSHIPS
Congratulations to all participants who travelled to Germany
for the world championships.
Sarah Sigurdson & Natasha Rey, members of the Canadian
Junior Tap team, both returned home with gold medals around
their necks, while Ashley Stapleton, Morgan Wilson and
Brooke Lobson were all part of Canada's highest finish in
Hip Hop to date, placing fifth in the finals.

- STUDENTS SELECTED TO TEAM CANADA HIP HOP & TAP TEAMS.
Congratulations go to Sarah Sigurdson & Natasha Rey on being selected to
the Canadian Junior Tap team which will travel to Germany
for the World Tap Championships, and to Liane Prenovault,
Sasha Bouchard, Brooke Lobson, Morgan Wilson, Stephanie
Papagiannopoulos
for being selected to the National Hip Hop Team which will
compete in Poland for the World Hip Hop Championships.

CONVENTIONS
Congratulations to Janou Dufresne for her scholarship at
this year's L.A.D.F. convention in Minneapolis. Another fun
trip and exciting dance convention for everyone! In
addition, congratulations to Aaron Stringer who earned the
Most Promising Dancer scholarship at this year's
Triple Threat Convention.

- IN THE ZONE HIP HOP COMPETITION: MARQUIS TAKES 2nd!
Congratulations go out to Marquis Hip Hop students and to
their teacher Wayne Santos who placed 2nd in the small group
category at this year's
In the Zone Hip Hop Dance Competition held on April 3rd,
at the Pantages Playhouse Theatre. Wayne's own performance
troupe Sikat placed first again this year in the large group
category.

- 5-6-7-8 SHOWTIME COMPETITIONS: DANCE WORLD CUP INVITATIONS
FOR MARQUIS
Congratulations to all participants who
took part in the 5-6-7-8 Showtime competitions. All did
remarkably well. Many Marquis entries also received invites
to compete in this summer's Dance World Cup,
including ballet groups and jazz groups from all four I.P.
categories! Also: the Advanced IP tap group, and tap
soloists: Sarah Sigurdson and Ashlee Stapleton. Ballet
soloists: Jasmine Allard, Lisa Baran, Ana Karen Lopez, as
well as Sarah S. and Courtney Maertens (duo). Jazz soloists:
Hannah Smith, Margaux Labossière, Brooke Lobson. The Jazz
duo of Lisa B. and Aaron Stringer scored the highest mark
for duos/trios and received a Paris invite. Congratulations!

03/05/08 - 2007-2008 WORLD TAP AND SHOWDANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS
In November, Damien attended the World Tap and World Showdance
Championships. He brought home the gold medal with the Canadian
National Tap Team, was the highest Canadian soloist finishing 5th in
the finals, finished 8th in adult duos and was 7th in Showdance, making
it again to the finals. For their accomplishments, Damien and his
teammates were awarded the medal of excellence by the city of Winnipeg
and were also featured on City TV's Breakfast Show.

We are announcing a Showcase for solos, duos, trios and
some groups at the Manitoba Theatre for Young People venue
at the Forks on June 9th, at the Forks. First show @ 6:00 pm

10-14. Have yourselves a fun experience and a great trip!
