
06/11/11 - TRIPLE THREAT DANCE CONVENTION.
Many of our dancers enjoyed learning new
dance routines at this year's Triple Threat dance
convention. Congratulations to everyone in attendance, and
we are happy to announce that Tasha Farmer, Kaleah Crump and
Margaux Labossière were also awarded scholarships. In
addition, the small group "Somebody to Love" was also
recognized for its choreography.

- JUMP ALTERNATIVE DANCE CONVENTION
A brand new dance convention rolled into
town in October. Students told us that they really enjoyed
the different types of workshops offered by this new dance
convention. Most of our students that were in attendance
were fortunate enough to bring home scholarships for next
year's convention. Ana Karen Lopez and Karine Roy were
awarded ballet scholarships, Sarah Sigurdson took home a tap
scholarship, Natasha Rey and Keanna Crump were recognized
with scholarships for hip hop, and for jazz, it was Courtney
Maertens, Megan Grenier and Bréanne Rey. Workshop
scholarships were also given to Liane Prenovault, Lisa Baran,
Margaux Labossière and Kaleah Crump.

- TEAM CANADA WORLD HIP HOP CHAMPIONSHIPS, Austria.
Congratulations to all participants who travelled to Austria
for the world championships. Wayne Santos was this year's
team Canada choreographer. He lead his team of dancers to
Canada's highest placing at the World Hip Hop Championships,
finishing 5th overall. Prior to this year, team Canada had
yet to reach the finals. Congratulations to all who attend
and to Wayne Santos!

- DANCE WORLD CUP, NIAGARA FALLS.
Congratulations go out to the students who represented
Canada at the Dance World Cup in Niagara Falls. Ana Karen
Lopez placed 2nd in Pointe solos, Margaux Labossière placed
3rd in ballet & 2nd in Jazz solos. Emilie Ferguson & Nika Martinusen just missed the podium, placing 4th
ballet & jazz solos.

- KIDZ QUEST FINALIST
Congratulations go to Margaux Labossière who
placed third with her jazz solo at this year's Kidz Quest
finals, held during the Red River Ex.

- C.N.D.C. Competitions
Congratulations to all participants at this year's Canadian National
Dance Championships. Competition highlights include many 1st, 2nd & 3rd place finishes
in Ballet, Pointe, Lyrical, Hip Hop & Tap, as well as
many specialty awards. Marquis placed 2nd highest overall in
Duo/Trios for the 10 yrs. & under category, as well 1st
overall in the 11-14 year old category. We also placed 1st &
3rd highest marks overall in the small group 10 yrs. & under
category. We also finished 2nd overall in the line group 15
& under category. Four of our dancers also received

- IN THE ZONE HIP HOP COMPETITION: MARQUIS DANCERS TAKES 1st
IN THE VARSITY CATEGORY!
Congratulations go out to Marquis Hip Hop students and to
their teacher Wayne Santos who placed 1st in the Varsity category at this year's
In the Zone Hip Hop Dance Competition held on April 17th,
at the Garrick Theatre.

- 5-6-7-8 SHOWTIME COMPETITIONS: DANCE WORLD CUP INVITATIONS
FOR MARQUIS
Congratulations to all participants who
took part in the 5-6-7-8 Showtime competitions. All did
remarkably well. Almost every one of our I.P. groups was
invited to attend the
Dance World Cup
in Niagara Falls in: Tap, Jazz, Ballet & Pointe, Lyrical and
Hip Hop.
Congratulations to Liane Prenovault, Carmelle Hearne and
Margaux Labossière who all received Paris, France Tour
scholarships of $500. Congratulations also Ashleigh
Stapleton and Margaux Labossière who were designated Senior
& Junior Dancers of the Year for their highest scoring
solos. Marquis finshed 1st overall for senior groups as well
as for duos/trios. "All I want is Bass" (Hip Hop) received
